Change Jar Savings started out as a Blogspot.com account called Getting Ahead in Life. The focus was to get ahead financially. After a while I wanted my own URL or web address and discovered the name Getting Ahead In Life was not available. So the blog became Change Jar Savings.

Over the years Change Jar Savings readership grew but not quite to the level I wanted it to. I was having fun posting tips and sharing what I thought were valuable ideas. I even posted shopping deals.

Looking back at it I started to lose interest when the focus became less about getting ahead and more about saving money. There are hundreds of places that show you how to save money. Many of them a lot better than I was able to put out while working fulltime. I did not feel like I was providing something unique; something that actually would change people’s lives. So I started posting less. Finally, I just stopped. I stopped writing new posts. In the blogging world when you are not posting new content, readers stop coming back. Advertising revenue, which there was not much, dried up.

However, I still hung onto Change Jar Savings as my creation. It was me. Yet it was not. Not anymore. I was not committed. My interests had moved beyond what Change Jar Savings could fulfill.

I also was creating or saying I was creating other websites. The problem is I have too many irons in the fire and I need to focus more. They are in various stages of development and I would like to finish and create better content again. Please visit them.

SimpleZenLiving.com is a concept right now. It may be my latest attempt where I focus again on living better. It is very new and has no real content yet. But please look for that to change.

Even though I have decided it would be best to formally shut down Change Jar Savings, the articles will still be here. I am not getting rid of the domain name yet. (BTW – If you are interested I am willing to sell the site for the right price.)
