Extra Refrigerator or Freezer costs $$

The grocery store deal may be great. But is it worth it to stock up and use an extra refrigerator or freezer? Maybe not…

You can spend up to $120 in electricity per year using a second refrigerator or freezer. This is $10 a month to run. Are you saving $10 a month by stocking up?

The $0.78 savings for frozen pizzas on sale (5 pizzas for $11) for $2.20 each instead of the $2.98 each may not make sense. You would have to buy and eat 12 pizza in a month for this to work. For a large family it makes sense. But for a couple or single person it may not. They may want to use a second refrigerator or freezer during holidays or for special occasions, turn it on one to two days before it is needed.
